Toddler To-do: Balancing on One Leg

Tyler successfully demonstrated his balancing prowess this evening by balancing on one leg during an inspiring episode of Sesame Street.

Toddler To-do: Somersault

Tyler successful completed his first solo somersault today! He was so proud and continued to demonstrate his new skill until it was time for bed.

Story Time

I took Tyler and Sydney to story time at the library last night before bed and the librarian was reading a book about a little boy and car he would design given the chance to make a car of his own. The car was very elaborate – in fact the exhaust of this car would emit the smell of blue berry muffins in place of gasoline exhaust.

At this point the librarian went around the room and asked the each of the kids (there were 4 other kids between the ages of 4 and 6) what sort of smell they would have come out of their car? We heard cookies, and I think one other girl said some sort of flower.

We get around the room to Tyler, his response…beer. Yep that’s right. Now, at first I wasn’t sure what he said – and the librarian looked at me kind of wide eyed, “Did he just say beer?” It sounded like beer to me, so I just shrugged my shoulders and agreed. It got quite a laugh out of the other parents in the room! I am sure he was trying to say something else we just didn’t understand, but it was good for a laugh.
